Cornette signs on with Cranes
Kearney, Neb. The Nebraska Cranes are pleased to announce the signing of Joel Cornette, a 610 power forward/center from Butler University.
Cornette, a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, participated on the Cincinnati Blaze ABA White Division, was invited to two NBA pre-draft camps and was drafted professionally in the USBL for the Brevard Blue Ducks. Cornette was a three-time Horizon League All-Defensive Team.
Cornette ranks 4th all time in Butler school history in field goal percentage and 7th in rebounding. He was the Butler University Male Athlete of the Year in 2003. He helped lead 12th seeded Butler to the Sweet Sixteen in the NCAA Tournament in 2003. Cornette was named to the East Region All-Tournament Team and was named the CBS Chevrolet Player of the Game twice in the NCAA Championship Tournament.
Preview the Nebraska Cranes in a Blue/Gold scrimmage on Friday, April 15 at UNK at 7. p.m. and Sunday April 17th at Hastings College at 3 p.m.
