Copperheads drop final home game, 10-2
August 4, 2010 - Texas Collegiate League (TCL)
Coppell Copperheads News Release
Coppell, TX - The North Texas Copperheads ended their illustrious legacy in Coppell with a 10-2 loss to the Brazos Valley Bombers. After playing at the Snake Pit since 2004, winning three Texas Collegiate League championships, the Copperheads were unable to overcome an offensive output on Wednesday night's game.
North Texas cruised through the first four frames, taking a 2-1 lead on an RBI single from Garrett Autrey (Navarro) and a sacrifice fly off the bat of Zac Russell (Cisco), but as quickly as the lead was theirs, the Bombers took it away.
The Bombers would add nine runs over the next three innings, including a pair of two run home runs off reliever Carlton Patton (Howard).
Brandon Parrent (0-2) picked up the loss, while the win was awarded to Levi Saenz (4-3). North Texas fell to 11-28 on the year, while the Bombers improved to 31-18. The Copperheads finish their season with a pair of games against the McKinney Marshals on Friday and Saturday at Gabe Nesbitt Field in McKinney.
