
Three Copperheads Named to All-TCL Team

The Coppell Copperheads are pleased to announce that three Copperheads were named to the 2011 All-TCL Team. The Texas Collegiate League announced its annual awards on Friday and gave a nod to three Copperheads after tallying up the votes from the league coaches.
Copperhead catcher, Joe Andrade, received shared honors behind the plate when he and Grant Dozar from Acadiana tied for the All-TCL catcher position. Joe is a junior from Dixie State College in Utah and currently has a batting average of .265 going into the championship series.
Nick Smelser was named to the All-TCL team in the short stop position. Nick just finished his sophomore year at Midland College and will be playing for Texas State University this fall. Nick is currently batting .281 this summer and is in the top 5 for the league in doubles (12), home runs (4), RBIs (39), and hits (61).
Tyler Migl made the All-TCL team in the designated hitter position. The junior from St. Mary's University in San Antonio is currently hitting .282, is leading the Copperheads in runs scored (35), and is 2nd in RBIs this season for the team (34).
The Copperheads management and coaching staff are very proud of all of their players this season and congratulate those who made the 2011 All-TCL team.
The Copperheads take on the Brazos Valley Bombers tonight at 7:05 in Bryan for the first game of the TCL Championship series!!!
