Conquest Shake Up Roster

ALBANY, NY – The Albany Conquest announced today that they have been assigned 6'3, 285 lbs, OL/DL Ken Kubec. The Conquest has also placed OL/DL Dan Penna on the injured reserves while placing OL/DL Vinny Guzman on re-assignment. Kubec, a two-time All-American by Football Gazette, was a four-year letterman at Colgate where he started in 30 straight games on the offensive line for the Raiders. Kubec was also named 1st Team Patriot League during both his junior and senior seasons. Kubec is the 6th player assigned to the Conquest from Colgate. He joins Ryan Vena, Corey Hill, Alex Houston, Brandon Tinson and Jason Mattes. Penna, who suffered a knee injury in last week's game versus the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers, has appeared in all of the Conquest seven games this season. In those seven games, Penna has recorded 7.5 tackles including one for a loss, two QB hurries and a fumble recovery. Meanwhile, Guzman, who appeared in four games this season, tallied 1.5 tackles and a QB hurry. The Northeast Division leading Conquest travel to Richmond this weekend to face Atlantic Division powerhouse the Richmond Speed. The Speed is 7-0 and owns the top spot in the Atlantic Division. The Conquest return home on Saturday, June 8th when they host their Northeast rivals the New Haven Ninjas. The Ninjas are coached by Rick Buffington, who was the head coach for the Albany Firebirds from 1990-1992.
