Albany, N.Y. - The Albany Conquest of arenafootball2 announced today that OS Chris Brewer has been signed by the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League to a free agent contract.
Brewer, 22, ranked third on the Conquest with 15 receptions and 227 receiving yards along with three touchdowns in his first three arenafootball2 contests. The 6-2, 205-pounder caught five passes for a team-high 110 receiving yards with 2 TDs against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers at Pepsi Arena's U.S. Army Field back on April 14, 2006.
He caught 10 passes for 106 yards with one TD in 11 games for Wyoming University during the 2005 season. His father Chris played for the Chicago Bears and Denver Broncos of the NFL, while also playing two seasons for the Denver Dynamite of the Arena Football League from 1987-88.
The Albany Conquest return to action on Saturday, May 13, 2006 at Pepsi Arena's U.S. Army Field for a 7:00pm contest against the Manchester Wolves. The U.S. Army presents the pre-game block party on South Pearl Street beginning at 5:30pm with live music, food, interactive games and much more.
