Oakland Roots SC News Release


There is only one month remaining in the 2021 USL Championship regular season and the race for the Playoffs looks like it's going to go right down to the end. Roots currently hold the fourth position in the Pacific Division and the final Playoff spot, and the three teams chasing them are separated by just one point. With two significantly important home games upcoming in a span of four days, your support can help make the difference in making the postseason.

On Saturday, October 2nd at 7:00 PM, Roots will celebrate Conoce Tus Raíces Night when they take on the Las Vegas Lights. The night will feature special musical performances by local Latin bands, and Los Bomberos de Oakland, the Oakland Latino Firefighters Association, will be honored.

On Wednesday, October 6th at 7:00 PM, Roots will face off against one of the teams battling for Playoff position in NorCal rival Sacramento Republic FC. After each of the first three matchups with Sacramento this season resulted in draws, this game will determine the season series as well as provide a crucial opportunity for reaching the postseason. The night will also feature $1 beers and sodas for all fans.
