Connor Wins Consecutive Special Teams Players Of The Week Honors

ODESSA, TX. : Odessa Roughnecks WR and Kick Returner Jimmy Conner (5'11", 190 lbs.) has been named IFL Special Teams Player of the Week for the second week in a row, this time for Week 7. Conner returned 4 kicks for 112 yards for an average of 28.0 yards a return in the victory over the CenTex Barracudas, 81-62, back on Saturday, April 12, 2008.

Conner earned Week 6 honors by returning a 47 yard kickoff for a touchdown against the Frisco Thunder on Sunday, April 6, 2008 and added in a receiving touchdown in the Roughnecks victory, 47-46. Conner ranks first in the IFL in Kick Return average with 24.2 yards a return and ranks third in the IFL in All-Purpose yardage, averaging 135.5 total yards a game in 2008.

Conner, a former wide out at Central Missouri State, ranks second among all Roughnecks wide receivers with 15 catches for 222 yards and 5 touchdowns. Conner also leads all Roughnecks in scoring with 7 total touchdowns, which includes 5 receiving, 1 rushing and 1 off kick returns. Conner and the Roughnecks look to go for 3 straight wins when they take on the Frisco Thunder on Saturday, April 19, 2008. Kickoff is at 7:11 p.m. at Benny Boyd Field.
