Condors Willett Shops for PAL; West Champion Blitz Close Out Regular Season

Bakersfield Condors Assistant Coach Paul Willett will be at the Bakersfield PAL's Grocery Shopping Spree. Willett will be given a grocery cart and a time limit to fill up as many high dollar items as possible. The total dollar value of the items in Willett's grocery cart will be donated to the Bakersfield PAL.

The event takes place at the Albertson's Grocery store located 1520 Brundage Lane and begins at 10:30am.

Thursday, July 29th - Blitz mascot Crusher and select Blitz players will be at the Holloway - Gonzales Library for the Kern County Library, KGET-TV 17, and the Bakersfield Blitz "Wild About Reading" Storytime beginning at 3:00pm. Holloway - Gonzales Library is located at 506 E. Brundage Lane in Bakersfield. For more information on the "Wild About Reading" program and how kids can earn free tickets to see the Bakersfield Blitz contact the Kern County Library at 868-0750 or log on to www.kerncountylibrary.org.

Thursday, July 29th - Come on down to the Holiday Inn Select for the Indoor War Report as the "Voice of the Blitz" Kevin Bartl is joined by Blitz Head Coach Rick Van Horne, and select Blitz players from 6:00pm - 7:00pm. The IWR is a great chance for fans to meet their favorite members of the 2004 Blitz as well as win great prizes. The Holiday Inn Select is located at the corner of Truxtun Avenue and Q Street. The show can also be heard live each week on KGEO AM 1230.

Friday, July 30th - Select Bakersfield Blitz players and the Blitz mascot Crusher will be visiting the North Bakersfield Recreations & Park District's Summer Fun Day beginning at 9:00am. The Blitz will be talking to the participants about life in professional sports and playing arena football. North Bakersfield Recreation & Park District is located at 2014 Calloway Drive in Bakersfield.

Saturday, July 31st - Join your West Division Champion Bakersfield Blitz as they host the Hawaiian Riptide for Blitz Football Giveaway Night! The first 2,000 fans will receive a free Blitz regulation size football with a select few of the footballs will be signed by local NFL stars David Carr and Joey Porter. The night also marks KGET-TV 17 and the Kern County Library Summer Reading Program Night - students who read a minimum of 10 books in the "Wild About Reading" program earn a coupon good for two (2) complimentary terrace level tickets to the game. It's also Pigskin Pride Night. Fans coming in any football jersey (Blitz, NFL, NCAA, Youth, etc.) receive 2-for-1 admission. Season ticket holders, don't forget that tonight is Season Ticket Referral Night. Season ticket holders receive complimentary Red Zone or End Zone tickets to be used to recruit additional season ticket holders.

Should the Blitz lock up the #2 seed this weekend, they will host their first playoff game on August 14th. Tickets for that game will go on sale to the general public on Monday, August 9th. If the Blitz finish as the #3 seed, they will host a game on August 7th and tickets will go on sale on Monday, August 2nd. Group outings for the Blitz are on sale now by contacting the Blitz office at 716-BLITZ (2548) or by coming in to the Bakersfield Sports Entertainment office located at Centennial Garden.
