Bakersfield Condors News Release
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors Professional Hockey Team unveiled their 10th Anniversary Season logos today, which will be used leading up to and during the 2007-08 season. The Condors primary logo used since their inception in 1998 will still remain in use, as well as some of the alternate logos that have been created over the years. However, the 10th Anniversary logos will be the focal point.
"We like logos, so when the voting came up pretty even for two of the original options, we decided to incorporate versions of both of them," Condors President Matthew Riley said. "Two of the 10th Anniversary logos we'll use are very similar to our traditional logo, with slight color changes and adding Roman numeral 10 behind it. We feel the logo with the Condors claw clutching onto the Roman numeral 10 is more contemporary and hip and gives us a lot of versatility."
Condors Director of Creative Services Ryan Hanson is primarily responsible for the development of the logos, along with input from many others, including the fans who were allowed to voice their opinion on the new logos and pick their favorite out of four possible designs. Voting for the new logos started Dec. 22 and ran through Jan. 15 at all Condors home games and online during that period. Fans who voted for the new logos that were selected were entered into a random drawing to win a Condors 10th Anniversary Prize Pack. The 10th Anniversary Contest winner was season ticket holder Kim Morris.
A season ticket holder for the past three years, Mrs. Morris is thrilled about being part of the 10th Anniversary season celebration.
"This is exciting," she said. "I never thought I would win something like this, but it's really exciting to be part of history for a team that you love. I'm definitely a proud member of Condorstown."
As the 10th Anniversary Logo Contest winner, Mrs. Morris will drop the ceremonial puck before the Oct. 19 Home Opener and receive 20 tickets to the game. She will also receive a Condors jersey and a Condors prize basket full of team merchandise and memorablia.
The Condors released their schedule for the 2007- 08, 10th Anniversary season earlier this week. The Condors regular season home opener will be Oct. 19 versus the Stockton Thunder at 7 p.m. To view the full 2007-08 schedule, click here.
