SERIES HISTORY:
Tonight is Game One of the First Round of the 2006-2007 Kelly Cup Playoffs, and marks the second straight year the Condors and the Falcons will meet in the postseason.
Last year, the teams met in the playoffs for the first time, in the Pacific Division Finals. The Falcons won the first two games in Fresno, 5-3 and 4-2, before the Condors responded with a 4-2 triumph in Game Three at The Nest. Fresno took a seemingly insurmountable lead when they beat Bakersfield, 3-2 in overtime, in Game Four at Rabobank Arena. But the Condors staved off elimination with a 4-2 win at home and then a 4-3 overtime thriller in Fresno to force Game Seven. In the deciding contest at Save Mart Center, the Falcons won, 4-2, to advance to the Conference Finals.
The Condors went 7-0-2 against the Falcons this year, but the regular season series was closer than the record indicates. All nine games were decided by two goals or less, with five of them going to overtime or a shootout.
Promotional Notes:
All fans attending tonight's game will receive a special Condors Blackout Rally Towel, compliments of KGET-TV 17 and Goodwill Industries. Everyone is encouraged to wear black to BLACKOUT the Falcons.
During tonight's and Friday's game, the Condors will also be holding a U.S. Army Pre-game Camo Jersey Auction.
