Bakersfield Condors News Release
Upcoming week of May 6th â May 12th:
· Monday, May 6th - Condors player Jamie Cooke along with Colonel Claw'd and Condors staff will be at Stella Hills School for its Camp College Rally which begins at 1:00pm. Stella Hills School is located at 3800 Jewett Ave.
· Thursday, May 9th â Condors Assistant General Manager Chris Freshour will be at Cal State University Bakersfield, at 2:00pm, speaking to the 60 Plus Club about Condors in the community. CSUB is located at 9001 Stockdale Hwy.
· Thursday, May 9th â Cal, the Baby Condor and Condors staff will be at Camp College Night from 4:00pm â 6:00pm. Camp College Night is being held at Bakersfield College, located at 1801 Panorama Drive, in the outside amphitheater.
· Friday, May 10th â Condors Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations, Kevin Bartl will be at Fairfax School for Career Day from 11:00am â 2:30pm speaking to students about his chosen career. Fairfax School is located at 1500 South Fairfax Road.
· Friday, May 10th â Cal, the Baby Condor and Condors staff will be at the Sierra Vista Elementary school carnival with the Condors Slapshot game. The carnival begins at 5:30pm and Sierra Vista Elementary is located at 300 Franklin Street in Arvin.
Week in review, April 29th â May 5th:
· Monday, April 29th â Condors Head Coach Paul Kelly, Public Address Announcer Chris Peace and Team Captain Paul Willett played in the Bakersfield Memorial Health Foundation golf tournament. Proceeds from the tournament benefit the Central California Heart Institute and children's services through the Children's Miracle Network
· Friday, May 3rd â Condors goaltender â author Ken Baker was at Russo's Books, in the Marketplace signing copies of his first book Man Made: A Memoir of My Body. Baker is in the process of writing a book about his experience with the Condors this past season. His new book, tentatively titled Bakersfield of Dreams is due out in the fall of 2003
· Saturday, May 4th â Colonel Claw'd and Condors staff were at North Bakersfield Parks and Recreation for the Special Olympics opening ceremonies.
Condors Droppings:
· May's website auction of the month features four (4) L.A. Dodgers tickets for a game this summer, two (2) Condors baseball caps and two (2) Condors golf shirts. Log onto www.bakersfieldcondors.com to place your bid. Proceeds go to benefit the American Red Cross âKern County Chapter.
