Rochester Raiders News Release

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (April 1, 2008)- The 2007 Continental Indoor Football League Championship Game MVP, Mike Condello along with former Syracuse University star Joe Donnelly has re-signed with the Rochester Raiders for the 2008 season. Condello was slowed by a back injury and was unable to participate in training camp. It was questionable if he would be able to play at all during the 2008 season but he is back to 100 percent. "Superman," as teammates and fans know him, played a vital role in last seasons run at the CIFL Championship. He was one of the team leaders both on and off the field. Joe Donnelly made an immediate impact on the offensive line last season after joining the Raiders and helping them bring home the championship.

"Both of these guys were vocal leaders in the locker room for us last season," commented Raiders co-owner Dave McCarthy. "Condello is a tough kid with a lot of heart. He had been bothered by injury but continued coming to practice and it was obvious that he was not ready to hang it up quite yet. Joe Donnelly is a tremendous athlete and brings a lot of talent to our offensive line. Both Joe and Mike are Section Five products and we are extremely excited to have them back for another run at a championship this season."

The Raiders are off to a fast start by winning their first two games of the 2008 season, most recently with a win over the Lehigh Valley Outlawz in their first home game at the Blue Cross Arena. This week the Raiders will travel to ?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Marion, Ohio to play the Marion Mayhem Saturday night. The Mayhem is the only other team then Port Huron that the Raiders have lost to in the history of the franchise. The Raiders will return home to Rochester for the following two weeks and play the New Jersey Revolution on Military Night, Saturday April 12th at 2:00. All members of the military will receive $2 off tickets purchased at the door on the day of the game. The following week, April 19th the Raiders will play the Saginaw Sting at 7:30pm in which Former Buffalo Bill and Hall of Fame Quarterback Jim Kelly will be on hand for Hunter's Hope Night. A proceed of tickets will be donated to the Hunter's Hope Foundation.
