
Tide Salute our Armed Forces with Special Night

The Chesapeake Tide will celebrate Armed Forces/Veterans Night this Saturday at 7:30 PM when they take on division-rivals, the New England Surge, at the Show Place Arena. A full night of activities, contests, and other entertainment, including a free concert, are planned in celebration of our Armed Forces personnel serving around the globe and at home.
The night starts with discounted tickets for all active, reserve, and retired military personnel. With a valid military ID servicemen and women may purchase a discounted ticket ($12, regular price is $18). It is also $1 Hot Dog Night for all!
Tide fans, which want to start the fun early, can purchase tickets to the Ledo Pizza VIP Zone, which opens up at 5:30 PM. For just $10 fans can enjoys Ledo Pizza's great all you can eat Pasta and Pizza Buffet from 6:00 to 7:00, as well as $2 domestic and $2.75 imported beer for the entire pre-game party. A portion of the Zone admission will be donated to the American Cancer Society. Also be on the lookout for a Tide player or two and the Tide mascot Captain Rip Tide.
As fans enter the Arena, 10-year NFL veteran and starter on the Washington Redskins' Super Bowl XXVI championship team, Andre Collins will be available for autographs.
Fans will also be treated to a free pre-game concert from The Perfect Excuse and the band will also be featured at halftime. One of Maryland's best known bands, The Perfect Excuse have performed live and been interviewed on: WHFS Radio, Baltimore, MD; WIYY Radio, Baltimore, MD; WBXQ Radio, Altoona, PA; and WNVT Television "MHz Rocks", Washington, DC. Additionally, they were honored by the Musicians Business Services for Today's Independent Artists (MBSTIA) and received the Artist Undiscovered Award as the "Best Musicians in the Rock Genre."
The Tide's other special guests are the Catholic University Cheerleading squad. One of the best team's in the area, and the nation, Catholic Cardinals Cheerleading finished 5th in All-Girl Division II at the 2006 UCA College Nationals. The Cardinals will be performing at halftime, on some timeouts, and cheering the Tide on throughout the game.
The Tide's 8th Man Team will also have plenty of "rally beads" for fans and will be hosting several contests. A lucky fan will have a chance at winning an iPod, gift certificates valued from $5 to $50, an autographed Tide football and more if they get selected to play the Ledo Deal or Not a Deal Game. Also, top fans will be selected for the Flynn Limousine Kick to Win Contest. Three lucky fans will be selected for a chance to win a night on the town in one of Flynn's luxurious limousines. Fun is also in store for lucky contestants in the Brad Medley Photography Photo Finish Contest. One lucky fan will win an autographed Tide photo and both will receive a photo of their exciting race.
