
Chesapeake Tide Announce Radio Team

UPPER MARLBORO, MD - February 26, 2008. The Chesapeake Tide of the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) announced today that Dan Velez and Sam Shavers will broadcast all six Tide home games for the CIFL Radio Network for the upcoming 2008 season. This will be the second Tide season for both Velez and Shavers. Last season they teamed up to broadcast every minute of the Chesapeake Tide's exhilarating home schedule as the team earned a playoff berth in its inaugural season.
Tide fans can also hear the team's away games via CIFL Radio, available at http://www.continentalindoorfootball.com.
Play-by-play announcer Dan Velez is a ten-year military broadcast veteran in the U.S. Air Force. A Vermont native, Dan has experience broadcasting multiple sports and currently teaches the military's newest broadcasting troops basic radio and television skills at the Defense Information School at Ft. Meade, Maryland.
Sam Shavers, the Tide's color analyst, is a 13-year U.S. Navy broadcast journalist. Sam hails from Philadelphia, PA, and honed his broadcast skills at the prestigious Newhouse School of Journalism at Syracuse University. He currently teaches basic television skills at the Defense Information School at Ft. Meade, MD.
