Orlando Pride News Release
ORLANDO, Fla. - The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) has unveiled the full schedule for its 2020 NWSL Fall Series, with the Pride set to play four matches, presented by Orlando Health, in a five-week span.
Both of the Pride's home matches will be closed to the public, however US-based fans will be able to catch every minute of the action on CBS' variety of platforms while international fans can watch on Twitch.
As previously announced, the Pride will open their Fall Series slate of matches on Saturday, Sept. 19 in a nationally televised match against the North Carolina Courage. The 1 p.m. ET kickoff will be aired on CBS, marking the first time the Pride are featured on network television.
Following that match, the side will travel to BBVA Stadium to face the 2020 Challenge Cup Champion Houston Dash on Saturday, Sept. 26.
The Pride will then return home for the remaining two matches of the series, first hosting the Dash on Friday, Oct. 9 at Osceola County Stadium, housed on the grounds of the Orlando City SC Training Ground, before returning to Exploria Stadium for the first time this year in a match against the Courage on Saturday, Oct. 17. Both those matches will be nationally televised, the former on CBS Sports Network and the latter on CBS.
The NWSL fall series will include 18 matches over the course of seven weeks, featuring three, three-team pods that will all play one another and enable the league to minimize travel.
The three teams in each regional pod will each play four games. Those pods are:
West: OL Reign, Portland Thorns FC, Utah Royals FC
Northeast: Chicago Red Stars, Sky Blue FC, Washington Spirit
South: North Carolina Courage, Orlando Pride, Houston Dash
The NWSL has also announced that play-by-play announcer Jenn Hildreth and analyst Lori Lindsey will call all NWSL Game's of the Week on CBS and CBSSN. Play-by-play announcer Mike Watts will also be joined by Lindsey for the four exclusive CBS All Access games. Marisa Pilla will serve as CBS' sideline reporter, providing fans with pre-game, halftime and post-game interviews with players and coaches.
The NWSL's return to play protocols reflect the best practices previously developed by the NWSL Medical Task Force and successfully implemented during the Challenge Cup. Those protocols have been updated to reflect the reality of home-market matches and regional travel and will influence all league and club actions outside the field of play.
