Command Enters Second Week of Training Camp

February 28, 2011 - Arena Football League (AFL)
Kansas City Command News Release

KANSAS CITY, Missouri - Week two of Command Training Camp begins with head coach Danton Barto expanding upon the Arena Football fundamentals and grueling physical conditioning in Week One. The pace and tempo of practices are increasing, and the physical aspect.

Team trainer Travis Neff and his team from BoostKC are one of the keys to ensuring Command players can push themselves as hard as possible while minimizing the rate of injuries that can slow them down. When asked about how the team is doing so far, going into Week 2, Neff said, "It's evident that most of these guys came to camp already prepared which has helped out a lot. These guys are professionals and it's great to work with such a disciplined group. So far we are only dealing with the types of minor injuries that come with tough practices, such as hamstring pulls and groin strains, but nothing debilitating. The most we've had is one mild concussion but otherwise we've got full participation at every practice due to the high level of the players' individual fitness."

Cuts to the roster are expected in the coming days, but overall the coaching staff has been extremely impressed with the performance of everyone attending the camp; a good sign for the upcoming season.
