Naumoski was the first player chosen from Kansas City and the second overall pick. The 24-year-old forward finished his rookie season with the Comets with nine goals and six assists for 15 points in 28 games. Naumoski joined the Comets as a second- round draft pick of the 2003 Amateur Draft. He is a native of Skopje, Macedonia and played college soccer at Southern Nazarene University.

The Comets signed Presser in December of 2003 for his first season in the MISL. The defender from Ft. Wayne, Ind. completed his rookie season with four blocks and two points in 14 games. Presser graduated from Indiana University and helped the 2002 Hoosier defense record eight shutouts and register a 0.77 goal against average, which was 17th best in the nation.

Scheer joined the Comets in February of 2004 as part of a trade that sent Franck M’Bemba to the St. Louis Steamers. With Kansas City, Scheer played in eight games and recorded three goals and an assist for four points and two blocks. Scheer also scored two goals, including the game-winner, in Kansas City’s first round playoff win over the Philadelphia KiXX. The 28-year-old Missouri native played college soccer at the University of Illinois-Springfield and Lewis and Clark Community College and was a two-time NAIA All-American.

Summer Soccer Updates

Three Comets have been refining their skills with outdoor teams this summer. Jamar Beasley (Milwaukee Wave United) and Anthony Maher (Syracuse Salty Dogs) currently play in the USL's A-League while Matt Tanzini stars with the Harrisburg City Islanders of the USL's Pro Soccer League.

Tanzini has been a major factor in the City Islanders' success. The midfielder has played in nine of the club's 12 games and has recorded three goals and an assist for seven points. All three of Tanzini's goals have been game-winners with his most recent coming on Saturday in Harrisburg's 3-0 win over the Westchester Flames. Harrisburg currently sits in second place in the PSL's Atlantic Division with a 6-4-2 record and 20 points. The club's next match is Saturday, July 10 versus the South Jersey Barons.

Beasley was signed by the Wave United in mid-June and has helped the team to a three-game win streak. The Wave United is currently in fifth place in the A-League's Western Conference with 13 points and a 4-7-1 record. The squad looks to continue its streak with a win against the Seattle Sounders (6-6-1) on Friday, July 2. The game starts at 7:05 p.m., and it will be televised nationally on Fox Sports World. Tune in and cheer on Jamar!

Maher has yet to add to his two goals from earlier in the season, but he'll have another chance tomorrow when the Syracuse Salty Dogs take on the MLS Columbus Crew as part of the U.S. Open Cup. The Salty Dogs have been struggling as of late and stand in fifth place in the A-League's Eastern Conference. The team has recorded 15 points and posts a record of 4-5-3. Tomorrow's game will be Webcast with kickoff at 6:30 p.m. Click here to be directed to the Salty Dog's Web site.
