Kansas City Comets News Release
Although the Kansas City Comets and the Major Indoor Soccer League are no longer in season, forward Anthony Maher continues to be a play-maker as a member of the Syracuse Salty Dogs of the United Soccer League's A-League. Maher has two goals in six games for the Salty Dogs, who are currently in second place in the A-League's Eastern Division with a 3-1-2 record. Maher is in third place in points for Syracuse with two goals for four points.
Maher finished the 2003-04 MISL regular season with 28 goals and 10 assists for 38 points, which was third-highest for the Comets. He also led the team with five game-winning goals. At the conclusion of the regular season, Maher received the State Line Nissan Newcomer of the Year Award at the Comets Crew Banquet.
The A-League is the USL's highest level of professional soccer in the United States and Canada. It features 16 teams in an Eastern and Western Conference format. Pre-season begins in April, and the regular season concludes in August. The Salty Dog's next game is Saturday, June 5 at the Minnesota Thunder. Check Fox Sports World for the broadcast of some A-League games, including Syracuse's game at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 11.

Milwaukee Wave United, Minnesota Thunder, Portland Timbers, Seattle
Sounders and Vancouver Whitecaps.

Countdown to Camps: 13 days!
For two decades, the Kansas City Comets have trained the next generation of players with their Summer Soccer Camps program. Comets Camps, with approximately 30 locations this year, are the only soccer camps in the Kansas City area taught by professional soccer players.
Children of all ages and skill levels benefit from professional instruction placing equal emphasis on on-field tactics and good sportsmanship. Among other Comets this year, Jeff Davis and Miki Djerisilo will be teaching kids how to be All-Stars!
