Comets Trade Grant to St. Louis

KANSAS CITY - The Kansas City Comets have traded Anthony Grant to the St. Louis Ambush for future considerations. The move constitutes Kansas City's first trade of the season. No further details regarding the transaction were disclosed.

Grant has been under contract for the Comets all season, though he hasn't been actively with the team. He played two seasons with the Comets, amounting nearly identical stats in both the 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 campaigns, despite playing seven more games in the latter.

"We appreciate Anthony's contributions here in KC over the last two seasons. We wish him and his family nothing but the best moving forward," Comets managing partner Brian Budzinski said.

The Jamaican came to America to play soccer at McKendree University in Southwest Illinois before transferring to Bowling Green. He has played for several professional indoor teams, including the Syracuse Silver Knights, who are now Utica City.

Despite the absence of Grant, the Comets have been potent offensively, ranking in the upper third of the league in goals scored. Leo Gibson, Ray Lee, Kiel Williams and Kevin Ellis have combined for 32 goals between them.
