St. John's IceCaps News Release

ST. JOHN'S - The St. John's IceCaps outshot the Utica Comets 33-25 but were defeated 3-1 at Mile One Centre on Wednesday Night.

Both teams went scoreless in the first before Michael McCarron found the back of the Utica net early in the second. Chris Terry and Josiah Didier picked up the helpers on McCarron's tally. The Comets' Wacey Hamilton responded with a rebound marker to tie it up, followed by another goal from Utica's Borna Rendulic just 46 seconds later.

Cody Kunyk scored just 18 seconds into the final frame to make it for the Comets, and despite a flurry of shots from the IceCaps, that would be the final goal scored.

The IceCaps saw both Michael and John McCarron suit up for the game, making them the first brothers to play in IceCaps franchise history. Terry's assist on McCarron's goal stretches his AHL point streak to nine games (6G, 10A).

The IceCaps are back in action this Saturday and Sunday for back-to-back 4pm games against the Albany Devils at Mile One Centre. Catch all the action with broadcaster Brian Rogers at www.stjohnsicecaps.com, KIXX Country 930AM and www.ahllive.com.
