Comets Reschedule December 12th Game & Announce Winter Break Youth Soccer Camp

(Kansas City, MO) - The Comets Major Indoor Soccer League Team has announced that its original December 12th road game against the Chicago Riot has been rescheduled for 8 p.m. on Saturday, February 26th at the Odeum Sports and Expo Center in Villa Park, IL. The Sunday, December 12th game had been postponed due to inclement weather.

The Riot visit the Comets this Sunday, December 19th at 3:10 p.m. at the Independence Events Center. It will mark the first time the home crowd has a chance to see hometown stars, Jeff Davis and Nate Houser, along with two other new Comets, Tiguinho and Birche. The Comets are encouraging all fans to bring a packaged toy for Toys for Tots. Anyone donating a toy for Toys for Tots will receive a discount coupon good for all Comets merchandise.

The Comets have also announced a special winter Youth Soccer Camp for boys and girls ages 6-13 to be held on the field at the Independence Events Center on Tuesday, December 28th and Wednesday, December 29th. Kids will learn essential soccer instruction from Comets players and coaches both days, then they will play on the field at halftime of the Comets December 29th game against the Baltimore Blast. Each camp participant will receive specialized instruction from Comets players and coaches, a camp T-shirt, and a ticket to the December 29th game. The Comets will also be holding a special goalkeeper camp on the 27th and 28th with Comets' goalkeepers, Danny Waltman and Boris Pardo, along with Columbus Crew goalie, Andy Gruenebaum, and Sporting KC goalie, Jimmy Nielson. Goalkeeper camp participants will also receive a camp T-shirt and ticket to the Dec. 29th game as well. Camp information can be found on the Comets website at www.cometsindoorsoccer.com.

"This camp is going to be an incredible opportunity for KC-area kids to get some personal and valuable soccer coaching from the Comets players and coaching staff," said head coach, Kim Roentved. "I know that as a parent, I'm always scratching my head, trying to figure out ways keep my kids occupied over the long winter break. I think our camp is going to be a great couple of days for both the kids and their parents."
