Kansas City Comets News Release

INDEPENDENCE, MO (October19, 2015) - The Missouri Comets announced that the team re-signed goalkeeper Stephen Paterson, defender Stefan Stokic and forward Max Touloute for the 2015/16 Major Arena Soccer League season, which will consist of 21 teams from the U.S. and Mexico. The campaign will begin for the Comets on Friday, November 6 when they host expansion team Cedar Rapids Rampage at the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena.

"We are very happy to have Stefan, Stephen and Max back for another season," Coach Vlatko Andonovski said. "They are quality players that played an important role last year and I am pleased to move a step closer to the plan we have for the team this season."

Halfway through last year's season, the Comets signed free agent Stephen Paterson. Two days later, the Thunder Bay, Canada native made his debut and earned his first professional win as the Comets defeated the St. Louis Ambush 7-5. Two weeks later, he started once again and added one more victory to his name when Missouri beat Chicago 7-2.

"I'm looking forward to another season with a championship team and organizations and excited to rebound from last year's playoff defeat," Patterson said. "We have the best fans in the league and we want to show how much we appreciate them by winning the MASL Championship."

Longtime Comets defender Stefan Stokic will also be returning to the Comets as he signed a three-year contract prior to the 2015/16 Major Arena Soccer League season. The Belgrade, Serbia native is one of the few players that remain in the roster since the team was brought back in 2010. Last season, he appeared in 17 games and recorded nine points with two goals and two assists.

"I wouldn't change this opportunity for anything," Stokic said. "It's great to be back with this team and this organization for another season and a privilege to be playing for the sixth consecutive season."

Haitian forward Max Touloute will return to Kansas City after playing professional outdoor soccer for USL side Pittsburgh Riverhounds where he started five games and recorded one goal and one assist. Touloute was also a part of the 2013/14 Comets roster who won the Major Indoor Soccer League. Last season, he totaled 25 points with 17 goals and eight assists.

"I am happy to be back," Touloute said. "Our goal is to win the league, nothing less."
