Comets Re-Sign Free Agent McCrimmon

HOUSTON – The Houston Comets announced today that the team has re-signed guard Nicky McCrimmon to a free agent contract. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

McCrimmon (5-8, USC ‘94) originally signed as a free agent with Houston on February 6, 2004. She played in one preseason game at Indiana on May 5, recording four points, three steals and two assists. McCrimmon was waived by the Comets on May 6.

Originally selected by Los Angeles in the fourth round (63rd overall) of the 2000 WNBA Draft, McCrimmon holds career averages 2.3 points and 1.7 assists in 125 games with the Sparks. McCrimmon has also averaged 1.4 points and 1.1 assists in 23 career playoff games with Los Angeles, helping the Sparks capture back-to-back WNBA Championships in 2001 and 2002.

McCrimmon previously played with the Long Beach Stingrays and Atlanta Glory of the American Basketball League (ABL). As a collegian, McCrimmon earned First-Team All-Pac 10 with USC in 1994 and Junior College Kodak All-America while at New Mexico Junior College in 1992.
