
Charlotte Sting Re-Sign Rushia Brown

The Charlotte Sting have re-signed 6-2 forward Rushia Brown, it was announced today by General Manager and Head Coach Trudi Lacey. The seven-year WNBA veteran has averaged 5.9 points and 3.4 rebounds in 210 career games.
Acquired by the Sting on May 16, 2003, from the Cleveland Rockers in exchange for Pollyanna Johns Kimbrough, Brown averaged 3.7 points and 2.4 rebounds while shooting .457 (53-116) from the field in 34 games in 2003. She did not play during the 2004 season due to personal reasons.
Brown began her WNBA career with Cleveland as a developmental player during the inaugural 1997 season. She earned an active roster spot on June 17, 1997, and spent six seasons with the Rockers before joining the Sting. Her other professional experience includes stints in France, Korea, Italy and Spain.
A native of Summerville, SC, Brown graduated from Furman in 1994. As a collegian, she averaged 19 points and nine rebounds in 114 career games and was named the Southern Conference MVP and a member of the All-Southern Conference First Team in each of her four seasons.
