Kansas City Comets News Release
Kansas City, MO â The Kansas City Comets announced on Tuesday that the team has signed defenders Jeff Davis and Nate Houser to Major Indoor Soccer League offer sheets. As per club and league policy, terms of the agreements were not disclosed.
Both players will be with the team when the Comets open training camp tomorrow morning at the Soccer Dome at 5909 Equitable Road in Kansas City, beginning at 9:00 a.m. A training camp roster appears on the following page.
The 2003-04 season will be Houser's 11th in a Kansas City uniform. The 6-3, 190 pound defender has scored 178 goals and 477 points while blocking 307 shots in 338 games since joining the team for the 1993-94 season. Houser, 30, scored 27 goals and 72 points while recording 38 blocks during the 2002-03 campaign.
Davis, 32, returns to the Comets' backline after a highly productive '02-03 season in which he scored 26 points and blocked 72 shots in only 28 contests. The 5-9, 165-pound backliner arrived in Kansas City in 1996-97 after spending his first three seasons with the St. Louis Ambush.
