SUSSEX, NJ (April 10, 2006) - Ben Wittkowski, General Manager of the Sussex Skyhawks, today announced the team will be holding an open tryout on May 10th at 8:00 a.m. at Skylands Park. All hopefuls are encouraged to display their talents for team officials in hopes of making Sussex County's exciting new professional baseball team.

"Our goal from the inception of this franchise is to be completely integrated into the community," said Wittkowski. "Nothing would please us more than to find our next rising star from the talent pool right here in Sussex County."

The tryout is open to everyone. All participants are required to register on the day of tryout, May 10th, at 8:00 a.m. sharp and be ready to play at 8:30 a.m. The cost to register is $20.00 which must be paid in cash at the time of registration. As part of the independent Can-Am league, the Sussex Skyhawks will host 46 exciting games against the Brockton Rox, Nashua Pride, New Haven Cutters, New Jersey Jackals, North Shore Spirit, Les Capitales de Quebec, and the Worcester Tornadoes. Standard game times are 7:05 pm Monday through Friday, 5:05 pm on Saturdays and 2:05 pm on Sundays. The Home Schedule for the Skyhawks begins on May 29th, 7:05 pm versus the North Shore Spirit, and will feature a huge fireworks display, as well as many other family-friendly attractions.
