Columbus, GA - Enjoy a night of baseball and support a worth-while cause as Thursday, August 24th is Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Night presented by TIC Federal Credit Union. TIC Federal Credit Union branches throughout the Columbus area will be selling general admission tickets for five dollars, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Georgia Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation will also be on hand distributing information about ways to contribute throughout the concourse and will also be throwing out the honorary first pitch.
Fans of Columbus baseball and hockey should circle August 24th on their calendars as both local area teams converge onto Golden Park to celebrate Columbus Cottonmouths Night. Cottonmouth General Manager and Head Coach Jerome "Boom Boom" Bechard, Player/Coach Ryan Aikia, and Right Wing Craig Stahl will all be on hand with mascot Boomer to sign autographs and spread the word about the upcoming season. All 2005 season ticket holders get in free by showing their season ticket pass at the Golden Park ticket office, while all 2006 season ticket holders can pick up their Catfish tickets at the Cottonmouth offices located in the Civic Center.
August 24th is also Thirsty Thursday and College Night as the Columbus Catfish take on the visiting Charleston RiverDogs at 7:00pm. All 12 oz. beer and sodas will be discounted to one dollar with college students getting a one dollar discount with a valid student ID (does not include Skybox tickets).
