Comcast 2004 UHL All-Star Classic Starters Announced

LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO--- The United Hockey League (UHL) announced Wednesday the starters for the Comcast 2004 UHL All-Star Classic. The Fort Wayne Komets will host the league's fifth All-Star Classic on January 18, 2004 in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

2004 EASTERN CONFERENCE STARTERS Forwards: Brent Gretzky (Port Huron), Hugo Belanger (Adirondack) and Kevin St. Jacques (Richmond) Defensemen: Martin Woods (Flint) and Trevor Burgess (Elmira) Goaltender: Peter Aubry (Elmira)

2004 WESTERN CONFERENCE STARTERS Forwards: Colin Chaulk (Fort Wayne), Robin Bouchard (Muskegon) and Jason Sessa (Quad City) Defensemen: Kelly Perrault (Fort Wayne) and Tom Menicci (Quad City) Goaltender: Kevin St. Pierre (Fort Wayne)

Fans that visited the official website of the UHL (www.theuhl.com) selected the official starting lineups. Fans had the opportunity to cast their vote online starting Monday, January 5, 2004 through Monday, January 12, 2004.

"I am extremely thrilled to involve our fans in picking the starters for this exciting event and I am impressed with the tremendous response that we received from everyone," stated President/CEO Richard Brosal.

The Fort Wayne Komets, defending 2003 Colonial Cup champions, earned the franchise's first ever Tarry Cup and hosted the largest crowd (10,593) to ever attend a UHL game. The Komets are enjoying their fifth year as a member of the UHL. The Komet franchise, the second oldest franchise in minor league hockey, was a member of the International Hockey League (IHL) for 47 years prior to joining the UHL in 1999 and is celebrating its 52nd year of professional hockey in the Fort Wayne area.

The UHL is celebrating its 13th consecutive season with 11 member clubs in six states, including the expansion Richmond RiverDogs (Virginia).
