Columbus Lions News Release

COLUMBUS, GA-- The Columbus Lions' television partnership with Cable TV of East Alabama - BEAM (Bringing East Alabama More) got off a rousing start last Thursday evening with the first edition of "ROAR TIME" with Lions Head Coach Jason Gibson, an hour-long episode hosted by Eric Fowler, "The Voice of the Lions".

All 2017 Lions home games will be televised live with pre-game and post-game shows on EATV Channel 7 for Cable TV of East Alabama customers. Non-customers can catch all telecasts streamed on the Columbus Lions' website, www.columbuslions.net.

On last week's first "ROAR TIME", Coach Gibson discussed the 2016 championship season, second straight for the Lions, who finished 11-0 to claim the AIF (American Indoor league) championship. He indicated that the new National Arena League (NAL) in which the Lions helped form, and in which the team will compete, will be strong both competitively and in stability of ownership among its eight charter teams.

"ROAR TIME kicks off just one of the shows that we will be partnering with the Columbus Lions to premier this season," said Melissa Gauntt, Executive Director of Operations. "CTV-BEAM looks forward to an exciting season with the Lions and a fun partnership as their Signature Sponsor."

Host Eric Fowler, the Public Address announcer for Lions games and annual "Fanfest" at the Columbus Civic Center, has produced audio for the likes of corporate giants Aflac and Synovus in Columbus, and owns a production company, Velvet Voice Over Productions. He is a graduate of Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA with a degree in broadcast journalism.

Gibson's coached the Lions to three titles and an overall 92-43 record (.681 winning percentage) from 2007-16, and is the only coach the franchise has known. The Lions start NAL play on Friday, March 17, at 7:00 p.m. against former Arena Football League champions, the Jacksonville Sharks, at the Columbus Civic Center. For season tickets, flex-plans and group outings, contact Rick Jacobson at 706-393-0646 (rick@columbuslions.net) or Charlie Walker at 706-887-8792 (charlie@columbuslions.net).
