Columbus Destroyers News Release

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Columbus Destroyers partner and managing board member Jim Renacci has announced two promotions involving the Arena Football League team's front office staff. Jim Lachey has been named Senior Vice-President of Football Operations and Matt Tremblay has been named Assistant General Manager. In addition, Renacci will take over as President and General Manager of the AFL franchise.

David Paitson, former Destroyers President, was recently promoted to Vice President of Ticketing where he oversees all ticketing sales initiatives for the Blue Jackets, Destroyers, USHL's Ohio Junior Blue Jackets and Nationwide Arena. He served as the president of the Destroyers for the past two years.

"These changes complete a long-term restructuring plan that was put into place when the Destroyers franchise moved to Columbus prior to the 2004 season," said Renacci. "Smoothly blending our AFL franchise with the Blue Jackets business operations has been incredibly important. We feel now that we are in a position to build on the work that has been done, move forward to grow our product and continue our efforts to bring an ArenaBowl championship team to the fans of Columbus."

Renacci has been an ownership partner of the Destroyers since the franchise moved to Columbus before the 2004 season. A Certified Public Accountant and financial advisor, he has a variety of business interests throughout Ohio.

Lachey, who has served as the team's line coach during the 2005 and 2006 seasons, first took on front office duties last season. Along with his elevated responsibilities as Senior Vice President of Football Operations, he will remain line coach. After an 11-year NFL career that included a championship with the Washington Redskins in Super Bowl XXVI, the All-American from The Ohio State University moved back to Columbus and became the color analyst for Ohio State football radio broadcasts, a role he continues today. Lachey also served as the Destroyers television analyst on FSN Ohio during the 2005 season.

Tremblay joined the Destroyers in 2005 and has served as the team's Director of Team Operations for the last two seasons. In his expanded role as Assistant General Manager, Tremblay will work closely with Renacci on all day-to-day business and football operations, including player contract negotiation, salary cap management, and team budget monitoring. The Adrian College (Mich.) graduate also holds a Master's of Business Administration from Hofstra University, where he spent one year as Assistant to the Athletic Director for Football Operations before coming to Columbus.

The Destroyers begin the road to ArenaBowl XXI in 2007 after a record setting season in 2006. The team is now accepting season ticket deposits from new customers for the 2007 season. Information regarding single game tickets will become available when the 2007 schedule is released this fall. For more information please call (614) 246-HITS.
