Columbus Destroyers News Release

COLUMBUS, OH - The Columbus Destroyers announced today that ten of the team's 16 regular season games, including all eight home games, will be telecast live beginning Saturday, Mar. 15 at 7 p.m. when the Destroyers play their fifth home opener at Nationwide Arena with a contest against new in-state rival, the Cleveland Gladiators. Columbus Sports Network (CSN) is set to carry the first "Battle of the Buckeye State" in central Ohio while Ohio News Network (ONN) will simulcast the CSN broadcast for fans in northeast (Cleveland, Akron, Canton, Youngstown) and southeast (Cincinnati, Dayton) Ohio.

In addition to the home opener, CSN is set to carry six more home games while ESPN2 picks up the eighth on Monday, Apr. 21 when Russell Athletic AFL on ESPN features Columbus vs. Philadelphia live at 8 p.m.

"The Destroyers hold a special place in our heart. Their game on March 24th last year, was the kick-off for Columbus Sports Network. Now some 150 events later, we're glad to continue our working relationship with such an outstanding organization. Our partnership with the Destroyers offers us a marquee marketing vehicle for our advertisers to reach the motivated audience they need to reach, while showcasing our quality production and a quality franchise. As a year-old entity, it also enables us to continue to spread the word about CSN and to attract additional sponsors that are just learning about our local sports network," said Mark Bivenour, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Columbus Sports Network.

CSN will return their broadcast team of play-by-play announcer Randy Rhinehart and color analyst Greg Freg for the 2008 season. Courtney George is the newest addition to the television team and will serve as sideline reporter. In central Ohio, CSN can be found on Time Warner Cable channel 78, Insight cable on channels 78 and 524 and WOW channel 97. Viewers without cable can find CSN locally broadcast on channel 32.

FSN Ohio will round out the broadcast schedule by carrying a pair of road games including the final regular-season game at Cleveland.

"FSN Ohio prides itself on offering fans the best in regional sports action, and we're proud that the Columbus Destroyers are part of our programming line-up," said Steve Liverani, FSN Ohio Senior Vice President and General Manager. "We're thrilled to have the National Conference Champions back on FSN Ohio this season."
