Columbus Crew SC News Release
COLUMBUS - Columbus Crew SC today announced a regional television simulcast partnership that expands the club's cable distribution via Buckeye CableSystem. In addition to the Black & Gold's partnership with The CW Columbus, FOX-28, ABC-6, MyTV Columbus and Time Warner Cable SportsChannel, Crew SC regionally televised matches will now be simulcast on BCSN2 for Buckeye CableSystem subscribers in the Toledo and Sandusky, Ohio areas. The simulcast partnership with Buckeye CableSystem begins immediately with coverage of Crew SC's matches starting this Saturday, April 2 at FC Dallas.
In completing the expansion to existing coverage, the Black & Gold aligned with current Crew SC TV rightsholders to identify a unique opportunity to provide coverage to a part of the State of Ohio where Crew SC matches were not previously available via cable distribution. BCSN2 will air the 29 remaining regionally televised matches in 2016 as well as simulcast all of Time Warner Cable SportsChannel's pre-match and post-match programming, in addition to the "Access Crew SC" magazine show. Time Warner Cable SportsChannel's pre-match show, "Matchday," will air at 8:30 p.m. ET this Saturday on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel and BCSN2 ahead of Crew SC's clash at FC Dallas. Coverage on The CW Columbus is scheduled to begin at 9:00 p.m. ET.
"The popularity of the Crew SC brand continues to grow, and our newly-formed regional television simulcast partnership with Buckeye CableSystem in Toledo and Sandusky provides their customers with an opportunity to consume Crew SC content on a dedicated platform for the remainder of the 2016 MLS campaign," said President of Business Operations Andy Loughnane. "This would not have been possible without the support of our current broadcast partners and I want to thank them for their commitment to Crew SC supporters across our region."
BCSN and BCSN2 are available on HD on channels 608 and 609 as well as on channel 109 in the Greater Toledo area.
"Soccer is one of the fastest growing sports in the region and BCSN is proud to partner with Columbus Crew SC to bring Major League Soccer to T-Town soccer fans," said Marc Jaromin, BCSN General Manager. "In addition to the quality broadcasts and support programming, local soccer fans will enjoy a full season of promotional fun as we work closely with Columbus Crew SC to bring the excitement of professional soccer to Toledo."
