Columbus Cottonmouths News Release

COLUMBUS, Ga. - Andrew Loewen is not returning to the Snake Pit this year, therefore there are big shoes to fill in net this season. Jerome Bechard and team staff feel confident in the two new signees coming in this fall.

Brandon Jaeger is a twenty-five year old American from Champlin, Minnesota. The young goalie has an extensive collegiate career playing four years at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP), a division three program. At UWSP, Jaeger was able to accumulate career GAA of 2.25. Throughout his career, Jaeger won a plethora of awards and recognitions in the NAHL from 2009 to 2011. The 5'10'', 170 pound goalie will be a solid addition to the goalie rotation.

The Snakes also signed Joel Danyluk, a twenty-five year old hailing from Yorkton, Saskatchewan. The Canadian goalie has had an extensive junior and collegiate career. Danyluk attended the University of Alberta-Augustana and his collegiate career GAA ended up at 2.24. Like Jaeger, this will be Danyluk's first professional hockey experience. In his time at Alberta-Augustana, Danyluk won one CCAA championship in his four years of eligibility. The 5'11", 203 lb goalie will be a large body in net and will be ready to prove his skill, like Jaeger, throughout the course of the season.

Head coach and General Manager, Jerome Bechard stated, "Replacing (Andrew) Loewen will be no easy task, but these two guys that are coming in have true potential to be great. We are excited to see who is going to bring the best on the ice. The only way to bring the best out of a player is through head-to-head competition."

The signing of Jaeger and Danyluk bring the number of goalies on the Cottonmouths' training camp roster to three. The Cottonmouths recently signed two-time Gold Medalist Shannon Szabados to her second full season in net.

Season ticket packages are currently available for purchase for as low as $10 per game. They can be purchased by calling the Cottonmouths' office at 706.571.0086 or visiting the Cottonmouth's office at the Columbus Civic Center.
