Columbus Assigns Left Wing Alexandre Picard

Syracuse, NY (November 7, 2009) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned left wing Alexandre Picard.

Picard, 24, has appeared in 11 games for the Crunch this season, tallying a team-high five goals, four assists and 22 penalty minutes. Picard has skated in 203 career AHL games, all with the Crunch, registering 60 goals, 60 assists and 370 penalty minutes.

In addition, he has skated in 58 NHL games, all with Columbus, recording two assists and 48 penalty minutes. A native of Les Saules, Quebec, Picard was selected by Columbus in the first round, eighth overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

The Crunch travel to Rochester to take on the Americans on Friday, November 6 and return home to battle Norfolk this Saturday, November 7 at the War Memorial at Oncenter at 7:30 p.m. Season and single-game tickets are now on sale and can be purchased by calling the Crunch office at (315) 473- 4444 or by stopping by the Crunch office in the War Memorial at Oncenter, located at 800 South State Street in downtown Syracuse.
