Columbus Acquires Mark Rycroft from Colorado

Syracuse, NY (January 22, 2008) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have acquired right wing Mark Rycroft from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for defenseman Darcy Campbell and right wing Philippe Dupuis.

Rycroft, 29, has appeared in 30 games for Lake Erie this season, tallying 1 goal, 6 assists and 17 penalty minutes. Rycroft has appeared in 226 NHL games with St. Louis and Colorado, posting 21 goals, 25 assists and 113 penalty minutes. A native of Penticton, British Columbia, Rycroft was signed by Colorado as a free agent on July 12, 2006.

Campbell, 23, has appeared in 28 games for the Crunch this season, tallying 1 goal, 5 assists and 26 penalty minutes. A native of Airdrie, Alberta, Campbell was signed by Columbus as a free agent on March 24, 2007.

Dupuis, 22, has appeared in 29 games for the Crunch this season, notching 7 goals, 4 assists and 2 penalty minutes. A native of Laval, Quebec, Dupuis was drafted by Columbus in the fourth round, 104th overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

All three players are expected to play in tonight's game between the Crunch and Monsters at 7:00 p.m. at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.

The Crunch's next game is Tuesday, January 22 as they travel to Cleveland to take on the Lake Erie Monsters.
