San Angelo Colts News Release

San Angelo, Texas---After taking the first three games against the Amarillo Dillas, the Colts were unable to sweep as the home team fell 2-1. The Colts' Chandler Barnard (9-3) pitched a complete game and squandered only two runs on five hits. Amarillo's, Ralph Roberts (7-3), earned the victory in an outstanding performance. Roberts dealt eight innings of one run baseball while striking out twelve. Albert Ayala collected his first save with the Dillas this season.

The scoring began in the third inning. Dillas back stop, Justin Wenger, reached home plate in the top of the third following his third homer of the season. Amarillo held a 1-0 advantage.

After five innings of play, the Colts offense had suffered eight strikeouts against Roberts. Amarillo continued to lead by a run.

In the seventh, Andrew Wong delivered a line shot over the head of Colts center-fielder Hunter Jobes. Wong motored to third with a triple. A tall fly to right by Terrance McClain brought home Wong, extending the Dillas lead to two.

San Angelo finally got on the scoreboard in the eighth as Hank Lanto tripled with one out. After Ronnie Gaines struck out, Hunter Jobes pulled a single through the right side to cut the deficit in half. The Colts, however, did not put across any more runs.

San Angelo and Amarillo begin another four game series tomorrow. This one is at Dilla Villa field. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm. The Kemps pre-game show will begin at 6:50 pm. Listen to all of your Colts action on KCLL COOL 100.1, or online at www.sanangelocolts.com.
