Colts Sign Four More Players

SAN ANGELO, Texas---The Colts have signed five more players for the 2009 season. Four of the five have professional experience:

Caleb Rodgers, a right-handed pitcher, rejoins the Colts after spending two seasons with the team. He is 5-1, with San Angelo, while striking out 45 batters in 57.2 innings.

Outfielder, Nick Mahin, signed with the club after playing for the Kannapolis Intimidators, the South Atlantic League affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. In his career, he has ten homers and 43 RBI in 78 games.

Right-handed hurler, David Dinelli, is also on the 2009 roster. The sixth round draft pick of the Houston Astros, in 2007, has reached as high as A-ball in the New York-Penn League.

Infielder, Donnie Ecker, played in the Northwest League affiliate of the Texas Rangers last year. In limited time, Ecker hit .286.

The only one new to the professional baseball scene is catcher, Jerry Cervantes. Cervantes was signed after he attended Texas State University. The catcher was discovered in the local tryout at Foster Field.
