Colts Introduce Coaching Staff

Barrie, ON- The Barrie Colts are proud to announce today that they have finalized their coaching staff for the upcoming 2010/11 Ontario Hockey League season.

Head Coach of the Barrie Colts Dale Hawerchuk announced on Tuesday that joining him on the bench will be David Bell and Todd Miller, while Dan Cloutier will take over as the club's goaltending coach.

Bell will enter in to his second season in Barrie after helping Marty Williamson lead this team to the best overall record last season. Originally from Wiarton, Ontario, Bell was an assistant with the Owen Sound Attack for three years before spending time with the Springfield Falcons of the AHL.

Bell played four seasons for the Ottawa 67's and also spent time in the AHL, ECHL, WCHL and UHL.

The New York Islanders originally drafted Todd Miller in the sixth round, 138th overall in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft. Miller spent his junior career playing for the Sarnia Sting and Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, with minor stints in Owen Sound and North Bay.

The Elliott Lake native would sign with the Islanders before then spending time in the WPHL, CHL, ECHL, as well as four seasons in Europe.

Miller currently runs the Barrie Colts Hockey School and will enter in to his first season as an assistant coach in the OHL.

Former NHL goaltender Dan Cloutier takes over for Piero Greco as the team's new goaltending coach. Cloutier spent ten seasons playing in the NHL for the New York Rangers, Tampa Bay Lightning, Los Angeles Kings and Vancouver Canucks.

The native of Mont Laurier, Quebec played junior for the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds and Guelph Storm, and was drafted by the New York Rangers 26th overall in 1994.

The Colts open up training camp on Monday, August 30th, with their first exhibition game on Sunday, September 5th in Owen Sound. Barrie will begin defense of their Eastern Conference Championship in Plymouth on Saturday, September 25th when the OHL regular season kicks off.
