Colorado Ices the Cavalry

March 6, 2011 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Colorado Crush News Release

Loveland, CO - The Colorado Ice gets another win at home against the Wyoming Cavalry with a final score of 39-30. The game was nothing less than entertaining and very much a trying battle for both Wyoming and Colorado. Everything each team had was left on the Majestic Field at the Budweiser Events Center.

The offense for the Ice came out ready to score at this evening's game. David Knighton (5) ended the game with a total of 157 yards passing and two passing touchdowns. TJ Pitts (28) had an 18-yard rushing touchdown. Ken Witter (18) and Duane Brooks (2) both had receiving touchdowns for the Colorado Ice. Lemans Casimier (3) in the second quarter had a 44-yard kick return for a touchdown putting the Colorado Ice in the lead going into half time. The Ice's kicker, Rocky Stevens (26), completed 4 out of his 5 PATs.

The Colorado Ice defense was a force to be reckoned with in the game. Corey Sample (9), Tyrone King (7), and Yaniv Barnett (99), with their tactical interceptions, and Dominic Applehans (51) with a timely sack on the Wyoming quarterback Joe McLain (13) in the first quarter.

The Ice faced some difficult mental challenges throughout the game but rose above and came out with a deserving win with help from Eryk Anders (32) in the last remaining minutes. Anders had a huge tackle and stripped the ball in the Colorado Ice end zone, giving the Ice their last touchdown for the win.

The Colorado Ice and Wyoming Cavalry face off two more times in the regular 2011 IFL season. If the game played tonight is any prelude of what is to come between these two teams, fans for each had better get tickets now for the next face off on April 17th on the Majestic Field in the Budweiser Events Center.
