March 25, 2014 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Colorado Crush News Release

Fort Collins, CO - The Colorado Ice (1-2) welcome the Nebraska Danger (4-1) Sunday, March 30 to the Budweiser Events Center at 3:00 pm. The Ice are coming off a bye week after their second loss to the Sioux Falls Storm. The Storm continue to be undefeated for the season and now have 36 straight wins in South Dakota. Going against a team like the Storm twice in three weeks has been a great test for the Ice and has motivated the team for high expectations.

During their week off the Ice have picked up players that will hopefully meet these high expectations. The four players signed include: former New England Patriots' Markell Carter (LB) and Malcolm Williams (DB), New Orleans Saints' Louiszell Alexander (OL) and from the University of Mississippi Jason Jones (DL).

The Danger are coming off a late win against the Bemidji Axemen 48-38. The Axemen had a 10 point lead heading into the third quarter but the Danger capitalized on the Axemen's mistakes including a missed field goal and interception. The Danger are tied for second in the league in interceptions with six with Jamar Love being their asset with three interceptions for 113 yards; two returned for touchdowns. The Danger also lead the league in sacks with 16 and Linebacker, Pig Brown having five alone.

For the Colorado Ice, receiver Kyle Kaiser and linebacker Joe Thornton lead the team with both being in the top five in the league of their respective positions. The Ice defense is currently fourth in the league limiting opponents to just 37.7 points per game. The offense has had trouble finding a rhythm being seventh in the league with 228.7 yards per game. Colorado Ice Head Coach Heron O'Neal said so far this season "executing better is the problem. We are getting close to where we want to be with getting a high level of execution of the game plan."

For this week that execution involves getting the new players "up to speed by practicing those techniques and situations to get them acclimated," according to O'Neal.

By adding four new players with extensive experience and having time to heal with a bye week the Ice should be able to execute more effectively.

The Colorado Ice are proud members of the Indoor Football League (IFL). All home games are played at the Budweiser Events Center located in Loveland, Colorado. 2014 ticket information is available by contacting the Colorado Ice offices at (970) 472-0128.
