Colorado Ice Sign 3 New Recruits

(Fort Collins, CO) - The Colorado ICE are proud to announce the signings of three new players to the Colorado ICE Organization. The players are DL Steven Turner, DB James "JJ" Johnson, and OL Karl Glimp.

Turner is a 6'2", 285 lb defensive tackle/defensive end from The University of Memphis. During his time at Memphis, Turner showed his versatility by starting at both defensive end and defensive tackle. Turner had a productive career at Memphis, playing in 45 games and accumulating 70 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, and 1 interception. Turner will join former teammate and new ICE signee, TJ Pitts who signed with the ICE earlier this off-season.

Johnson is a 6'0", 200 lb safety/corner from The University of North Alabama. CBS Sports rated Johnson as the 80th best strong safety prospect in the nation for the 2009 season. In the one year that Johnson spent at UNA he started 13 games at free safety, accumulating 69 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 2 fumble recoveries, and 1 interception. Before his time at UNA, Johnson spent three years at Marshall University, starting 23 games at corner. During his time at Marshall, Johnson accumulated 164 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 18 pass break ups, 3 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery for a touchdown, and 2 interceptions.

Glimp is a 6'5", 307 lb offensive tackle from Stephen F. Austin University. CBS Sports rated Glimp as the 57th best offensive tackle prospect in the nation for the 2009 season. During his career at Stephen F. Austin, Glimp started all four seasons. Playing in 45 games Glimp graduated with the most career starts in school history. During his final two seasons, Glimp never surrendered a sack. After his strong career at SFAU, Glimp was named All-Southland Conference First Team as well as a Fabulous Fifty All American by College Sports Network.
