Colorado Crush News Release

Fort Collins, CO-The Colorado Ice are proud to announce that the San Diego Chargers have signed Ice Offensive Tackle, Mario Henderson. The Ice are proud to have had Henderson play for the team and wish him the best with his return to the National Football League.

Henderson played for Florida State University and was ranked as the 12th best offensive tackle prospect in the 2007 draft class. Being one of the highest ranked offensive tackles led him to be selected in the 3rd round by the Oakland Raiders.

Henderson spent the 2007-2010 season with the Raiders during which he was named the Most Improved Offensive Lineman. There he played in 43 games and started in 28. During his final two seasons with the Raiders, Henderson started in 23 games.

When asked about his time with the Ice Henderson commented, "After being out of football for a year and not being looked at by the NFL; having the opportunity to get back into a routine of practice, watching film and playing against good competition enabled me to focus on getting back to the NFL."

Ice Head Coach Heron O'Neal stated, "Mario's signing with the Chargers is one of many I expect to see moving up to the NFL or CFL from the Ice and the Indoor Football League."
