Fort Collins, CO-The Colorado Ice Professional Indoor Football team is proud to announce the signings of two new players to the Organization. Prenny Stokes and Kyle Theret will join the Ice roster for the 2012 season.
Stokes is a 6'4", 310 lb offensive/defensive lineman from Indiana State University. Stokes brings a great amount of experience and versatility with him as he has spent time with various teams playing numerous positions.
During his indoor football career, Stokes has played center, guard, defensive tackle, and defensive end; showing his versatility and athleticism throughout. Stokes began his indoor career as a nose tackle with the Quad City Steamwheelers of the now defunct AF2. After playing in Quad City, Stokes moved to Bloomington, where he played two seasons for the Extreme on the offensive line.
Stokes had two very productive seasons in Bloomington, eventually landing him in Allen as a starter earlier this season. Stokes' versatility and experience will be counted on to help solidify the Ice's offensive and defensive lines.
Theret is a 5'10", 200 lb defensive back from the University of Minnesota, who was rated as the 81st best strong safety prospect in the 2011 draft class. Theret was not only one of the top players during his time at Minnesota, but is also one of the All-Time best defensive players to ever wear a Gopher uniform.
Theret played in 48 games during his 4 seasons at Minnesota, accumulating 263 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, 17 pass break-ups, 10 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles, and 1 reception for 40 yards. During his senior season alone, Theret played in 8 games, accumulating 71 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 2 pass break-ups, 1 interception, and 1 forced fumble.
Before Minnesota, Theret played his high school football at Mullen High School. In his senior season, he recorded 144 tackles and 1 interception. Theret's talent didn't go unnoticed as he received numerous awards throughout his high school and collegiate career; including being named Honorable Mention All-Big Ten.
