Fort Collins, CO- The Colorado Ice along with the Indoor Football League (IFL) announces the 2012 schedule. The Ice will open the season on the road February 26th in Albuquerque for the New Mexico Stars inaugural game. The Ice will return to Majestic Roofing Field at the Budweiser Events Center for their home opener on March 4th and will be taking on regional rival the Wyoming Cavalry.
The Ice will play in the Intense Conference, one of two conferences in the IFL this year. The Intense Conference is made up of the Allen Wranglers, Colorado Ice, Everett Raptors, Nebraska Danger, New Mexico Stars, Tri-Cities Fever, Wichita Wild and the Wyoming Cavalry. The United Conference will feature the Bloomington Extreme, Cedar Rapid Titans, Chicago Slaughter, Green Bay Blizzard, Lehigh Valley Steelhawks, Omaha Beef, Reading Express, and Sioux Falls Storm.
"We have a very even, very competitive schedule set for the 2012 season," said IFL Commissioner Tommy Benizio. "I commend the individual teams and arenas, as well as the scheduling committee, for putting together what I believe is our best schedule yet."
Ice head coach Heron O'Neal stated, "I am looking forward to the 2012 season and our rivalry games against Tri-Cities and Wyoming. The two new teams to the Intense Conference, New Mexico Stars and Everett Raptors, have good coaching staffs and will be new rivalries for Ice fans."
