Colorado Crush's Rashad Floyd Named Defensive Player Of The Week

DENVER - The Arena Football League announced today that Colorado Crush defensive back Rashad Floyd was named the league's ADT Defensive Player of the Week for Week 8 of the 2007 season. Floyd has now won six league weekly honors throughout his six-year career, as well as three Defensive Player of the Month and two postseason All-Arena selections.

This marks the fourth time a Crush player has received a weekly AFL honor this season and the second consecutive week that a Colorado player has won this particular award (Chris Angel- Week 7).

FLOYD (5-10, 180, Portland State) returned two interceptions for touchdowns of 23 and eight yards during the third quarter as the Colorado Crush scored 33 unanswered points on their way to a 63-53 victory over the Las Vegas Gladiators on Friday. Trailing by nine points entering the third quarter, Floyd's first interception return cut Las Vegas' lead to three. His second put the Crush, who scored 26 points in the third period, up for good. Floyd also notched 8.5 tackles.

The Colorado Crush travel to Kansas City for the first of three consecutive road games to face the Brigade on Friday, April 27th at 6:00 p.m. MT.
