Colorado 14ers Set to Tip-Off NBA D-League Season Nov. 23

July 24, 2007 - NBA G League (G League)
Colorado 14ers News Release

DENVER - The Colorado 14ers will open the 2007-08 season in the NBA Development League on Friday, Nov. 23 at 7 p.m. MT when they host the Anaheim Arsenal at the Broomfield Event Center.

The 14ers-Arsenal contest is the first of 50 regular season games for Colorado, 25 of which will take place at the Broomfield Event Center and 14 home dates will fall on weekends (Fri-Sun). The 14ers will also take part in the 2008 D-League Showcase that will take place from Jan. 14-17 at Qwest Arena in Boise, Idaho.

"Now that we have the schedule set, we have some big promotional and theme nights in the works with our marketing partners that will be fun for all in attendance," said Rick Nichols, Executive Vice President / COO of Broomfield Sports and Entertainment. "The schedule always brings lots of excitement in the basketball community as the signal that the new season is approaching."

Also highlighting the 2007-08 D-League Schedule is the All-Star Game, which will be played as part of NBA Jam Session presented by adidas at 2008 NBA All-Star in New Orleans.

Fans can purchase season ticket packages at an affordable price for Colorado 14ers games at the Broomfield Event Center now by calling (303) 465-HOOP. Season tickets start around $9 per game and are close to the action. For ticket information log on to 14ersHoops.com.

With the expansion to 14 teams, the D-League is realigning into three divisions for the 2007-08 season. The Southwest and West divisions will feature five teams while the Central division will have four. The 14ers will play in the Southwest division. Colorado will play divisional foes eight times each during the regular season while squaring off with non-division opponents twice.

"I'm looking forward to the fact that we are now in a new division with new division rivals. It will make for a fun and exciting new season," said 14ers Head Coach Joe Wolf.

"The realignment and scheduling structure encourages divisional rivalries," D-League President Dan Reed said. "Plus, with this scheduling system, we had the ability to cut down on travel which we believe, in turn, will provide for a better product on the floor."

The Divisions for the 2007-08 season will break down as follows:

Central Southwest West

Dakota Albuquerque Anaheim

Fort Wayne Austin Bakersfield

Iowa Colorado Idaho

Sioux Falls Rio Grande Valley Los Angeles

Tulsa Utah
