
Colonials Sign Former NFL RB

Hartford Colonials News Release
The Hartford Colonials signed former NFL running back Kevin Jones and defensive back Gerard Lawson. The team also released running back Dwayne Wright and cornerback Marcus Brown.
Jones (6-0, 225), a first-round draft pick by the Lions in 2004, has rushed for 3,176 yards and 24 touchdowns in 68 games with the Lions and Bears. In 2004 he had 1,133 yards rushing to become just the third rookie in Lions history to surpass the 1,000-yard mark, joining Barry Sanders and Billy Sims. Jones, 28, was sidelined with an ankle injury last season.
Lawson (5-10, 195), 25, was most recently a member of the Cleveland Browns. He made his NFL debut in 2008, appearing in 15 games that season and five in 2009.
