EAST HARTFORD, CT - June 3, 2011 - The Hartford Colonials signed defensive tackle Jonathan Lewis to a contract for the 2011 United Football League season. Terms were not disclosed.
Lewis (6-0, 304) was selected by the Colonials in the ninth round of the 2011 UFL Draft on May 2. He was originally drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in 2006 and appeared in four games as a rookie that season. Since then he has spent time in camp or on the practice squad with the Oakland Raiders, Seattle Seahawks, Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars and Cleveland Browns.
Lewis, a native of Richmond, Va., played at Virginia Tech and was All-ACC honorable mention in 2004.
