Hartford Colonials News Release

Hartford Colonials running back Lorenzo Booker has been named the United Football League Offensive Player of Week 7.

Booker set a UFL single-game record with 147 yards rushing and ran for a touchdown in Hartford's 27-26 victory Saturday night in Sacramento. The previous record was 139 yards by Las Vegas RB DeDe Dorsey.

Booker also owns the UFL record for the longest reception, an 80-yard touchdown catch in a 27-10 victory over Sacramento in the 2010 season opener Sept. 18.

Booker, a third-round draft pick by the Dolphins in 2007, has a UFL-leading 616 total yards from scrimmage, which includes 395 rushing yards on 68 carries (5.8 avg.) and 221 receiving yards on 19 catches (11.6 avg.).

Trailing 14-0 against Sacramento in the first quarter, Booker's 47-yard run set up Hartford's first touchdown, which he scored from 2 yards out to cut the deficit to 14-7.

It is the second straight week a Colonials player earned player of the week honors and third time this season. Defensive end Derek Walker was named Defensive Player of Week 6 and quarterback Josh McCown was Offensive Player of Week 1.

Booker's performance against Sacramento helped the Colonials improve to 2-4 and kept them alive for the second spot in the UFL championship Nov. 27 in Omaha. Hartford's next game is Nov. 11 against the Florida Tuskers in Orlando at 7 pm.

Tickets are on sale for the Colonials' final home game, Nov. 20 at 3:30 pm, against Las Vegas at Rentschler Field. To purchase tickets, call 860-913-2300 or go to www.hartfordcolonials.com.
