Colonial Orthopaedics and Richmond Raiders sign partnership agreement

The leadership of Colonial Orthopaedics and the owner of the Richmond Raiders professional indoor football team have entered into an agreement for Colonial Ortho to provide physicians' services to the team players for the 2012 season. Vivek Sharma, MD, who specializes in sports medicine, cartilage repair, and shoulder and knee reconstruction, will be present at Richmond Raiders home games to provide services if they are needed.
Now with over a dozen medical doctors on staff covering virtually every orthopaedic specialty, Colonial Orthopaedics has been serving residents of the Tri-Cities and surrounding counties for more than 30 years. Offices are located in Colonial Heights, Chester, and Midlothian. In addition, Colonial Ortho's clinical staff is composed of licensed and registered x-ray technologists, licensed practical nurses, certified professional medical assistants as well as physical and occupational therapists located at both the Chester and newly expanded Colonial Heights office.
Richmond Raiders' owner Elizabeth Fraizer said, "We are delighted to be teaming up with Colonial Orthopaedics. The outstanding reputation the group enjoys gives us confidence our players will receive the best care possible if it is required."
The Richmond Raiders team is a charter member of the Professional Indoor Football League and plays its home games on Saturday evenings during spring at the Richmond Coliseum. The team has a 2-1 record so far in the 2012 season and is undefeated at home. The next home game is April 14 against the Alabama Hammers. Kick off is at 7 p.m.
